Stop Corruption Now!

How Can We Succeed You Ask?

Take a look at our history ....... on June 21, 1990 a citizens group was formed called "Hands Across New Jersey" (HANJ) and in a very short period of time the membership of this grassroots group grew to an astounding 500,000.  There were coordinators in every county, volunteers of every nature, and they had some of the largest rallies Trenton has ever seen.  They brought the city to its knees!  During that time HANJ made a big impact in our state and succeeded in forcing our elected officials to do what they were elected to do, represent the people.

HANJ was responsible for persuading Governor Jim Florio's administration to repeal many of the burdensome taxes he had proposed, including the most memorable and infamous "Toilet Paper Tax".  Their work was responsible for the repealing a tax put on "Heavy Trucks", ended Governor Christine Whitman's attempt to raise the gas tax by 10 cents, and rolled back a 7% sales tax to 6%!  They even forced the legislature to pass a law allowing the citizens of NJ to recall any elected official.

So you see my fellow New Jerseyans, it can be done.  United we can become the most powerful voting block this state has seen, with a voice that CAN and WILL be heard.  We will make a difference.

What Has Our Legislators Been Doing Wrong?

  • Government needs to be run like a business, not like a social club handing out money wherever it will ensure their reelection.

  • Their waste full pork barrel and Christmas tree spend does nothing but benefit a legislators themselves not the citizen of New Jersey it most stop!

  • The citizens of New Jersey will be paying for our legislator’s mismanagement for years it will be years before New Jersey is debt free.

  • They are handing out lucrative contracts to family and friends.

  • They are allowing state pensions and healthcare to destroy our economy and not making state workers and educators to carry some of their own weight like the private sector does.

  • They are not fixing from within by eliminating friends and family bonus jobs, dual office positions or pay-to-play contracts.  (pay-to-play, the controversial practice of trading political donations for government contracts).

Businesses that were paid $5.1 billion by state, local and county agencies last year donated $11.4 million to political candidates and fundraising committees, according to data released April 3, 2009 by the Election Law Enforcement Commission.  A huge amount of our tax dollar is spent here.

  • Instead of biting the bullet and cut the size of government, they are forcing cutbacks directly onto our citizens by raising the cost of registering a motor vehicle, eliminate training assistance for our EMS's, cutting back funding grants for our children to go to college, closing parks and so much more.  Did you notice the pain is always inflicted on the citizens, while our elected officials skate through like nothing is wrong.

  • They are in a part time job, making endless, overblown, full time perks from our money!  What's wrong with that picture?  You can't successfully run a private sector business with this much giveaway to your employees.

  • And the list goes on and on and on.

What You Can Do to Help?

  • If you want to make a difference you need to get involved, help us get the word out.  Unions are a powerful because they represent a large voting block to legislators, but we the citizens of New Jersey will become an even larger one.  Our power will be our numbers, spread the word!!

  • This will be a long term commitment for our state residents in order to ensure that the work we accomplish will never go by the wayside.

  • When the time comes, in order to accomplish our goals, you will need to be vigilant about emailing and calling our elected officials to let them know they need to support citizen oriented legislation.

Citizen New Message to Trenton

For years we have been sending the wrong message to our legislators and by not speaking up we are saying to them, "do as you please and make yourself comfortable", and that's exactly they're doing, but now those days are over!!

The new message we're going to be sending is if you want to be a legislator in NJ you're going to be working to make the state better for the citizens, not for yourself - its that simple.  If you don't represent the people, then you will become part of the problem and not part of the solution and we will vote you out!

The problems we face in New Jersey has reached the point where you cannot afford not to get involved.
